Living In The Moment January 21, 2015 by admin Leave a Comment Last weekend I attended a 2 day retreat and it was time well spent. The theme was living in the moment, and not letting past actions (or lack thereof) rob us of the possibilities in our future. Instead of just sitting there and letting my mind wonder I let the words the speakers said soak in, and his message came through loud and clear. I took notes, and afterwards went home and took action. As a Results Coach my clients have my undivided attention during our sessions. Yet when I’m at home with my children I’m often multitasking. As a wife and a mom I sometimes get so caught up with cooking, cleaning, laundry, keeping everything tidy, etc. But I’d rather be listening to the kiddies laugh or watch them be silly. I realize now that if I can wake up 15 minutes earlier or go to bed a few minutes later I can manage my household more effectively and spend extra quality time with my kids. Or even have time for morning meditation, reflection and creative visualization. The bottom line – What memories are you creating today? Are they in sync with your core values and what matters most to you? I read The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren and he perfectly discusses time. He said “Time is your most precious gift because you only have a set amount of it. You can make more money, but you can’t make more time. When you give someone your time, you are giving them a portion of your life that you’ll never get back. Your time is your life. That is why the greatest gift you can give someone is your time.” My family is my number #1 priority and my goal is to make good use of my time with them. I will live in the moment, and stay in the moment. What matters most to you and are you making time for it? If you would like to make better use of your time or discuss other goals please schedule a session and I will help you.
