Love Wins! January 21, 2015 by admin Leave a Comment In the summer of 2009 I decided to sell my house and relocate back to my hometown of New York City. There were several reasons I felt I needed to move: I wanted to be closer to my family, I missed the Big Apple’s culture and diversity, but most importantly I knew in my heart that I would find love. Some friends couldn’t believe I was selling my home which I loved, having to find another job and starting over some place new with my tween son. But what they didn’t realize was that home ownership for me as a single woman was difficult, my son was approaching an age where I needed a support system and I was ready for a change of environment. I was thankful that I had a Results Coach who supported my vision and encouraged me to pursue my dreams. So I packed up my bags and followed my gut instinct. Prior to moving I found a great job, signed a lease on a luxury two story apartment with a nice view, and enrolled my kid in a good school. Within a year I started attending singles event, joined an online dating site and made a list of what I wanted from a partner. By 2011 I had met a charming and gregarious Irish lad who had all the qualities and values that I desired. I knew from the beginning that he was special because he was the kindest, and most selfless individual I had ever met. As a matter of fact after our first conversation I told one of my friends “just got off the phone with the man I will one day marry.” He got along well with my son, and our friendship blossomed to a relationship. His family are good hearted people and his parents are still together after 40 years of marriage. We traveled, went to Broadway shows, Yankee games, and even hurling matches. By 2013 we were married and eleven months later we welcomed a healthy and happy baby boy. We feel very fortunate to be in a loving marriage and be parents, because it was a mutual goal. The bottom line – Take time to reflect and implement the necessary changes to make yourself happy. Lose the fear and take action to achieve your goals. Whether it’s getting out of a job that no longer encourages your personal or professional growth, relocating to an area that supports your mission, or finding real love – it’s all doable if you take the first step, follow your heart, and keep taking consistent action. I’m happier than I have been in years and I would love to help you reach optimum joy. Remember life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are your unalienable rights.
